Not even two months after from the release of the iPhone 7, and Apple has already announced the launch of the iPhone 8 in celebration of the iPhone’s 10th anniversary.
According to an abundance of rumors, fans are going to be introduced to a new generation of technology, equipped with several impressive features to come in 2017.
Rumors are suggesting that it’s going to be a complete redesign of the phone, with an all around “edge-to-edge” display, removing the surface buttons; such as the front-facing camera and home button. Instead, touch ID and the camera will be built directly into the phone’s display, meaning that there will be no home button to press anymore.
Jony Ive, Chief Design Officer of Apple Inc, has stated in the past that he wants to introduce an iPhone that looks like a single sheet of glass for numerous years now. 2017 may be the year that this chic design is possible.
With a design like this, it seems as though the display may take up the entire front of the iPhone, but isn’t confirmed whether this display will grow to fit the phone or the phone itself will be shrunken to fit the display. Rumors are implying that Apple will use a 5.5-inch or larger display for this advanced model.
This particular configuration is reported to be flexible OLED rather than an LCD. This will allow Apple to create a thinner device for users, consuming less power and offering a better display with an improved contrast of colors. In addition to this display, it has been suggested that the device may have rounder edges, yet this is still to be confirmed.
Apple may finally be parting ways from the use of aluminum in their model of the iPhone, used previously in the iPhone 5, 5s, 6, 6s, and SE. Instead, the company may be applying a glass body, similar to the one used in the iPhone 4. It is rumored that at least one model of the iPhone 8 will include an entire glass body, built around either an aluminum or stainless steel frame.
It’s also to be expected to include the feature of a long-range wireless charging system, possibly one of the most appealing attributes to the iPhone’s design yet to be heard. It’s not a complete farfetched idea, being that Apple is capable of many intricate and highly-advanced designs, however, it can be challenging.
Adding the ability of wireless charging would highly appeal to those users who are upset with the removal of the headphone jack, as they would be able to wirelessly charge and plug in Lightning headphones simultaneously. Apple fans will undoubtedly hear more information on the plans regarding wireless charging in the next months leading up to the release of the new generation of iPhones.
The iPhone 8 is still under development, likely to launch in the fall of 2017, typically the time of year Apple releases their newly designed models. Apple never seems to fail in amazing users with their progress in technological features, continuing to create impressive products.
If you’re a diehard iPhone user, make sure to be on the lookout for yet again one of Apple’s most highly advanced iPhones this upcoming year.
