Sexual Misconduct “Reader:”

There have been numerous new proposed policies regarding sexual misconduct on college campuses, and are currently being developed to provide more support for victims and more rights for students accused of assault. Education systems across the country have lacked in withholding proper regulations when it comes to sexual assault. Many higher education administrators have said that sexual misconduct rules pressed by the Obama administration have little to do in helping with assault nor harassment. Education departments are now trying to nationally establish and narrow the definition of sexual harassment, and hold schools accountable only for formal complaints filed through proper authorities.

Airline “Reader:”

More and more airlines are receiving backlash due to their decrease in size of bathrooms to increase in profit. Specifically larger and handicapped passengers have begun to find it more difficult to use the aircraft’s washroom, especially in coach. It has been noted that some airlines have been shrinking the bathrooms in the front and rear of the plane by seven inches, giving the airline the ability to add an additional row of six seats. An additional space savings comes from downsizing closets and pushing seats closer together, which does not have passengers happy.

Hartford’s Main and Park Streets “Reader:”

After numerous long attempts in shaping downtown, Hartford’s Main and Park streets are finally getting redeveloped. A partnership with Spinnaker Real Estate will be expected to replace the nonprofit CIL and is going to be a development of apartments over storefront space. The first phase of construction from formerly the Corporation for Independent Living isn't expected to be completed until 2022. The nonprofit also plans of putting together the pieces of a financing package before they commit to any of them, but the city needs to see more progress beforehand.
